Elphin set dancers has great success at the Connacht Fleadh in Mohill.
A massive well done to all 11 teams and 51 amazing dancers who took to the floor at the Connacht Fleadh in Mohill. They represented the area brilliantly and did some fantastic dancing throughout the day. Huge congratulations to the teams that have now qualified for the All-Ireland Fleadh in Belfast – U-12 Ladies, 12-15 Mixed, U-18 Half Sets (two teams), 15-18 Ladies, 15-18 Mixed, O-18 Ladies, O-35 Ladies. This is an incredible achievement and a fantastic result for Elphin. A big thanks as always to Mícheál Gunn for his dedication and time, and a special mention to the costume department for fitting out everyone so well.
Cemetery Masses will be held as follows: Saturday, July 11th at 7.30 p.m. at Caldra and Cloonclaff; Saturday, July 18th at 7.30 p.m. New Cemetery, Elphin.
The countdown to Elphin’s Agricultural Show has begun. The show will be held on August 29th.

Tidy Towns volunteers meet up at the Day Centre polytunnel every Saturday at 10.30 a.m… All welcome. Thanks to everyone who sponsors the work of the group. Members have been busy planting tomatoes, cucumbers, squash etc in the polytunnel for the use of the clients and staff of the day centre.
Route 468 (Strokestown to Carrick via Elphin) has transferred to TFI Local Link Longford Westmeath Roscommon. Passengers are advised that there are no changes to the existing schedule. Route 468 will continue to provide two return trips every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, connecting communities for shopping, appointments, social activities, education and more.

Kiltrustan Sports Club holds a clothing collection the first Saturday of every month, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..

The Tuesday traditional music sessions in the Tower Inn will be proceeded by a junior music session starting at 7.30 p.m. for the duration of the school holiday and all junior musicians will be made very welcome provided they are accompanied by a parent.
The next singers’ night in the Tower Inn will be August 2nd (Bank Holiday weekend). All singers are welcome to attend. All genre of singing is catered for. For non-singers the night always provides a very good night’s entertainment, so come along and bring a friend.

Bingo every Monday starts at 8 p.m. in Elphin Community Centre. Thank you for your continued support.
Huge congratulations to Elphin ladies rounders team who beat St Clare’s of Cavan last week. Elphin ladies moved up to intermediate level this year and have faced it with great effort and determination. The road to an All-Ireland semi-final looks bright.
Congratulations to Sennan (100m) and Conan (200m) who won gold medals at the recent county Community Games athletics day in Ballyleague.
AA meetings are held on Mondays at 8 p.m. in Elphin Community Centre.
The mobile library visits Elphin every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3.30 p.m..

The annual gathering for prayer and reflection at Tumna graveyard, Boyle Road, Carrick-on-Shannon, will take place on Friday, July 10th at 7.30 p.m.. All are welcome to attend.
Recent winner of the Shannon Gaels GAA Club’s 50/50 draw was Breifne O'Rourke who won €790. All support for the draw is much appreciated. Tickets may be purchased on ClubSpot or at local businesses.

Croghan Organic Garden’s pop-up shop is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beside the Old Creamery Café. Fresh produce grown locally at the organic community gardens.
The annual national Grandparents Pilgrimage, celebrating the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, takes place on Sunday, July 26th at Knock Shrine. All welcome to attend on this special day.
