The new owners of Frybrook House are Mark and Gary from Live 5D Health Centre. Everyone is looking forward to seeing what they have lined up for it.
Thank you to all the players, coaches, and travelling parties from Athleague, Roscommon Gaels, and Tooreen who made the journey to Boyle for a home hurling blitz last Saturday. It was fantastic to host the 2026 blitz, and seeing such a large crowd gathered around the pitches was incredibly encouraging. The support shown by all clubs and the local community reinforces the growing enthusiasm for hurling in North Roscommon and inspires the club to continue developing and promoting the game for the next generation. The day was filled with excellent displays of skill, determination, teamwork, and, above all, sportsmanship. Every club played the game in the right spirit, making for an enjoyable and memorable occasion for everyone involved.

To celebrate the Boyle Arts Festival 2026 the story of the Táin Bó Cuailnge & Cruachán Aí will be recounted on Saturday, July 18th at 3 p.m. at Frybrook House. Hear firsthand about the origins of Queen Medb and her great cattle raid to Ulster, which features a host of legendary characters such as the boy hero Cúchulainn, the Connacht warrior Fráoch and immortals of the Otherworld including the vengeful Macha and the formidable battle goddess, Mórrígán, who dwells in Oweynagat, the Cave of Cruachán, Ireland’s reputed ‘Gate to Hell’. The genesis for this event came about from a variety of storytelling events, particularly pertaining to Queen Medb, provided at various events and festivals in County Roscommon over the years This inspired an expansion of the concept into a full evening of storytelling, which culminated in the delivery of ‘Who Shot Queen Medb?’, which took place in the Roscommon Arts Centre in August 2025. The positive feedback obtained from this event has inspired the project further and bring it to a wider audience and share these wonderful tales For further information and to book your tickets, visit the Boyle Arts Festival site
