Elphin set dancers who competed at the county of the recent GAA Scor na nOg in Elphin.

FUNDRAISING CAR WASH 

The annual car wash organised by Elphin Special Events Committee will take place on Saturday, November 29th at Elphin Fire Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. sharp. Come early to avoid disappointment. The event is organised to raise funds for the Christmas lights. Santa will be there with treats for all. Please support.

LATE MR ROGER FORRESTER 

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family, and in the tender care of the staff of Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Roosky on November 13th of Mr Roger (Roddy) Forrester, Corgarve, Elphin. Predeceased by his father Thomas and mother Mary Teresa, brothers Michael, Tommy, Brother Brian and sisters Úna and Maureen. Roddy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Brian, Thomas, Josie, John and Marie, Patrick, Thomas, Marian, Regina, Fiona, Gerard and Lorraine, nieces-in-law, nephews-in-law, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, cousins, his dear friends in Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, relatives, neighbours and friends. His remains were removed to St. Patrick’s Church, Elphin and following Funeral Mass burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.

LATE MRS KATHLEEN 

ANN CRYAN The death occurred on November 16th, peacefully at University Hospital Kerry, after a short illness of Mrs Kathleen Ann Cryan, Bealtragh, Elphin. Predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Mary, and her sisters, May, Bernadette, Christine, Nancy, and her brothers, William and John. Deeply regretted by her sisters and brother, nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. May she Rest in Peace.

CREEVE MASS 

The annual pre-Christmas Mass will be celebrated in Creeve Community Centre on Friday, December 12th at 8 p.m.. Light refreshments will be served afterwards and all are welcome to attend.

CREEVE 25 CARD DRIVE 

The annual 25 card drive will be held in Creeve Community Centre on Friday, December 12th commencing at 9 p.m., €500 in prize money. Tickets €5 each available from committee members.

Mr & Mrs CLAUS IN ELPHIN 

Santa and Mrs Claus will be turning on the Christmas lights in Elphin on Friday, December 5th at 7 p.m.. Everyone is welcome. Wrap up warm, bring the children, bring yourselves, this is always a lovely occasion in Elphin.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE THANKS 

The special events committee (Christmas lights) would like to thank everyone who came to the table quiz last Saturday night. Thank you to everyone who donated a spot prize and bought tickets on the night for the raffle. A big thank you to all the young people who turned up to support the event. Finally thank you to Paddy Farrell, Det Reynolds, Tina Brennan and all the committee members who helped out on the night.

TIDY TOWNS 

Tidy Towns volunteers got a lot of work done last weekend at both the Castle Street and Shankill entrance signs to Elphin. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers. Elphin Tidy Towns committee and volunteers meet every Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Polytunnel and would love to welcome some new members.

TOWER BAR SESSIONS 

The next in the series of singers nights in the Tower Inn, Elphin will take place on Sunday, November 30th at 8.30 p.m.. The Tower Trád sessions, which take place on Tuesday, are proving to be a great night’s entertainment and all the regular musicians look forward to the addition of new musicians and listeners for a really enjoyable night.

CASH FOR CLOBBER

Clooneyquinn NS Parents Association is running a cash for clobber collection. Please leave all black bags in shelter for collection before Wednesday 9 a.m.. There will also be a collection in Elphin on Tuesday evening at the hall at 4:30 p.m. and at Statoil at 6 p.m. if anyone wants to donate bag.

COMMUNITY GAMES 

Draughts training continues on Wednesday, November 19th from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. in Abbeycartron NS School Hall, for U-10 only (U-12 will return soon).This will be for children age 8 and over.

GAA SCOR na nOG 2025 

Elphin Community Centre hosted this year's county final of GAA Scor na nOG and it was a full house in the newly renovated centre. Elphin Scór na nÓg Champions 2025 Ceol Uirlise, Elphin GAA, Rince Seit, Elphin GAA. An outstanding evening of top class cultural fare. A huge well done to all our competitors.

BINGO 

Bingo is held every Monday at 8 p.m. in Elphin Community Centre.
