Athlete with Roscommon connections wins silver at national finals

A young athlete with strong Roscommon connections has medalled at the 123.ie National Senior Indoor Championships.

At yesterday’s event, Max O'Reilly from Riverstick-Kinsale AC finished second in the 60 metres sprint, winning the silver medal for a second year in a row with a fantastic time of 6.69.

The son of Ronan O’Reilly, who is originally from Main Street, Castlerea, Max is just 20 years old.

Separately, Castlerea Crusaders has congratulated one of its athletes, Lee, on his qualification to the Irish indoor finals for the 60m sprint later this month.

“Lee is a huge credit to our club, constantly turning up, giving it his best and in doing so inspiring all our younger athletes as he goes.”
