A committal room has been completed at Sharkey's Funeral Home.
A County Roscommon Funeral Directors has said that the competition of a new room at one of its funeral home will bring “significant comfort to families”.
Sharkey Funeral Directors confirmed the completion of a committal room at its Loughglynn Funeral Home in West Roscommon.
In a post on social media, the well-known funeral directors highlighted that the new room had been meticulously designed to mirror the rooms found in crematoriums.
“Our investment ensures that all services can be conducted with the highest level of dignity and professionalism.
“The room features a sophisticated curtain system, which gently obscures the coffin from view in stages, providing comfort to families during their farewell.
“Our advanced audio-visual systems allow for the playback of personalised music or videos, offering solace and evoking cherished memories of happier times. The room is equipped with full air conditioning to ensure a comfortable environment.
“This space has brought significant comfort to families, allowing them to conduct services in familiar surroundings and eliminating the need for a stressful journey to and from a crematorium.
“After the service, families can remain in their hometown, where they have the option to gather with friends and loved ones for refreshments or relax to share memories over tea or coffee,” explained the post.
