County Roscommon golfers selected for European Championships

Both Olivia Costello and Thomas Higgins from the Roscommon Golf Club have been selected for their respective Irish teams competing in the upcoming European Championships.
Costello was called up to the Irish Women’s team for the Championships being held at Slieve Russell between July 7th and July 11th.
The full team is: Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle), Olivia Costello (Roscommon), Kate Dillon (Oughterard), Rebekah Gardner (Clandeboye), Katie Poots (Knock) and Jess Ross (Clandeboye).
Women’s Captain is Gillian O’Leary (The Island) and the Women’s Coach is Donal Scott.

Higgins was also called up for the European Men's Amateur Championships which will be played in Estonia from August 3rd to August 6th.
The full Irish team is: John Doyle (Fota Island), Stuart Grehan (Co. Louth), Thomas Higgins (Roscommon), Matthew McClean (Malone), Caolan Rafferty (Dundalk), Gavin Tiernan (Co Louth).
Men’s Captain is Damien Coyne (Tuam) and the Men’s Coach is Michael Collins.
County Louth golfer Stuart Grehan won the British Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool last weekend.
He has strong ties to Roscommon Golf Club as his wife Carla’s aunt, Rosemary O’Brien, is the club’s Honorary Secretary.
