Council issues update on King House clean up

King House as it was and how it stands today.

The clean up and Garda investigation into the recent oil spill at King House in Boyle are ongoing, the council has said.

"Roscommon County Council continue to work with An Garda Síochána and specialist environmental contractors in relation to the spill of kerosene at King House. We here in King House are particularly grateful for the generous support and goodwill shown to us by the local community in recent days," the statement said.

The annual Christmas Craft Fair will now take place in Boyle Sports Complex this Friday, November 28th 5pm to 9pm and Saturday November 29th 10am to 5pm as planned.

The performance of The Nutcracker will now be held in St. Joseph’s Hall, Boyle on Sunday, December 7th at 7pm for one performance only.

"No further decisions have been made regarding our remaining schedule of events. Once again, we would like to thank the community and the public at large for their support and assistance," it continued.

"Updates on the reopening of King House and Boyle Library will be provided on the council’s website and social media channels. Library users can avail of services in any of our public library locations or through online library services."
