New Boyle Experience Trail launched

Visitors are invited to discover Boyle, County Roscommon and the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands region in a new way with the launch of the Boyle Experience Trail – a beautifully designed printed guide and interactive digital map that brings together the town's rich heritage, vibrant culture, family-friendly adventures and local food businesses into one unforgettable visitor experience.

Whether you're planning a day trip, a weekend escape or simply rediscovering your hometown, the Boyle Experience Trail encourages visitors to step off the beaten track and uncover the stories, places and people that make this historic town one of the gems of the region.

Wander from the ancient arches of Boyle Abbey and the elegant surroundings of King House to the magical woodlands of Lough Key Forest & Activity Park, where thrilling adventures including treetop ziplines, scenic canoeing and interactive challenges await visitors of all ages. Along the way, discover artisan cafés, local shops, cultural attractions and hidden corners that reveal Boyle's unique character and charm.

The trail combines these exciting locations to give visitors another way to experience the town while encouraging them to linger longer, explore further and support local businesses throughout their visit.

The new experience includes an easy-to-use interactive map, available on VisitRoscommon.ie, alongside a high-quality printed guide that can be collected from Úna Bhán Tourism, the official starting point for the trail.

The Boyle Experience Trail has been developed by Roscommon County Council's Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Boyle Town Team and local tourism businesses, with the support of Fáilte Ireland.

Boyle has benefited from €470,000 in funding through the Fáilte Ireland Destination Towns Funding Scheme in recent years. The investment has transformed the visitor experience through improved public spaces, enhanced pathways and laneways, better orientation and upgrades around King House, creating a welcoming destination for visitors and laying the foundations for initiatives such as the Boyle Experience Trail.

Roscommon County Council continues to invest in Boyle as a year-round tourism destination through infrastructure improvements, destination management, business support and marketing initiatives that help showcase everything the town has to offer.
