Council rejects plans for new Lidl store in Monksland
Lidl Ireland had lodged a planning application with the co8ncil to develop a new discount store in Monksland with a gross floor area of 2,358sqms.
Plans for a new Lidl store in Monksland have been refused by Roscommon County Council.
The decision to turn down the German discount retailer's plans for a supermarket was made on Friday.
Lidl Ireland had lodged a planning application with the council to develop a new discount store in Monksland with a gross floor area of 2,358sqms.
The plans also included a separate 145.8sqms café/restaurant with a sheltered outdoor seating area along with another retail unit of 145.4sqms.
The reasons for rejecting the planning application have not yet been published on the local authority's planning website.
