A Roosky based business was named at the overall winner of the 2025 County Enterprise Award for County Roscommon at a ceremony in the Hodson Bay Hotel.
Euro Accessories Ltd, owned by Ray Gilsenan, employs ten people. The company will now represent the county at the National Enterprise Awards in May.
Euro Accessories Sales Ltd. manufactures spiral void former, a ribbed steel tube used in concrete construction and particularly in offsite pre-cast concrete manufacture to form precast wall connections, service ducting and post tensioning ducts.
Accompanied by his wife, Niamh, his son, Dara and sales manager, Michael McCormack, a clearly delighted Ray, who is a native of Leitrim village, said he was thrilled to receive the award on behalf of his hard working colleagues.
“I started the business from my garage in Leitrim Village, back in 2009, distributing concrete accessories to the precast and construction markets throughout Ireland. In 2021 we spotted a gap in the market for a complete system to connect precast concrete walls.
“Through our research and development, we developed a unique method using spiral tubing and a new grout delivery system. This is now used for connecting precast walls in commercial and residential construction projects,” explained Ray.
“Since 2022, LEO have been very supportive of our efforts and assisted us in the purchase of new machinery to allow us develop and expand our production. In 2024 we built a brand new manufacturing facility beside our existing warehousing. Going forward, we’d like to expand the business further into the UK and Europe,” he said.
Presenting the award, the Chief Executive of Roscommon County Council Shane Tiernan applauded the company for its ingenuity and determination to succeed and wished the company well in the National Enterprise Awards in May. “For the first ten years this business was exclusively a distribution business supplying products to the construction sector.
“With the assistance of the Local Enterprise Office, this company began manufacturing its own products in late 2022 and has since grown to the point where it now employs ten staff and is exporting to the UK as well as serving the Irish market.
“This business has recently completed construction of a brand new extension and this investment will facilitate the continued growth in both national and international markets,” the chief executive remarked.
Euro Accessories Ltd received a special commemorative trophy at the awards, which was presented by the Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council, Cllr. Paschal Fitzmaurice.
