County Roscommon club officer reflects on memorable week that keeps ‘getting better’

A County Roscommon man is lapping up one of the most memorable weeks in his life.
Kilglass Gaels GAA Club Chairperson, Niall Kilcrann, was handed the Ceremonial Duty to carry the Connacht flag and march behind the Artane Boys Band before last Sunday’s All-Ireland football final between Kerry and Donegal in Croke Park.
Then, on Tuesday, he was part of the management that saw Custume Barracks, Athlone, win the Defence Forces Gaelic Football Sevens competition for the first time.
Speaking about his experience on All-Ireland final day, Niall described the occasion as “very humbling”.
“The Defence Forces has given me many great memories at home and overseas that I will cherish for as long as I can remember, but today (Sunday) has probably topped them all.
"To be given the Ceremonial Duty to carry the Connacht flag and march behind the Artane Boys band on All-Ireland football final day in Croke Park and represent the Defence Forces, my county and my club Kilglass Gaels is one of pride and honour,” he reflected.
And as Custume Barracks made history a few days ago, Niall admitted that his week just kept “getting better”.
