County Roscommon hotel announces new general manager

The Hodson Bay Hotel has announced the promotion of Roscommon Town native Johnny Connaughton to general manager at the South Roscommon hotel.
Johnny started his journey with the hotel in 2015 as a food and beverage assistant in the restaurant and in 2016 he got the opportunity to participate in the hotel's trainee manager programme, progressing to guest relations manager shortly after this.
He then went on to work in several four star and five star properties around Ireland as food and beverage manager, conference and banqueting manager and operations manager.
“He returned to Hodson Bay Hotel in September 2022 as deputy general manager, and we are delighted to see him now progress to general manager,” the hotel said.
Commenting on the promotion, Tim Hayes, Managing Director, Hodson Bay Hotel said: “Johnny is an excellent example of how young people can progress in the hotel industry and in particular within our group. I am delighted we have had the opportunity to welcome him back and I wish him all the success for his future at Hodson Bay Group."
The year so far has already proven successful for Hodson Bay Hotel, having received Great Place to Work certification and the Excellent Employer Award by Failte Ireland.
