There will be several parades taking place on St. Patrick’s Day throughout the county.

The theme for this year’s St Patrick’s Day in Ballaghaderreen is 'Going Green in Ballaghaderreen'.

The Ballaghaderreen Town Team is looking forward to lots of fun filled and colourful floats displaying the best of our local community and heritage.

The parade will start on Monday, March 17th at 2.30 p.m., entering the town from the Sligo Road and will travel up through the town with performance stops at The Square and outside Imelda Towey’s shop.

There will be two starting points, one at Abbeyfield for driving floats and the other at the Cathedral for walking floats.

In Boyle Corrigeenroe native, former Boyle Celtic player and current League of Ireland star with Drogheda United, James Bolger will be the Grand Marshal for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which gets underway at 3.30 p.m.
