Department officials set to outline plans for Castlerea apartment block 

Plans to house International Protection Applicants at some apartments in the Riverwalk complex in Castlerea will be discussed on Monday

A meeting between public representatives and officials from the Department of Integration is set to take place on Monday evening, May 27th to discuss the planned movement of 52 International Protection Applicants (IPAs) to a Castlerea apartment block on June 7th.

The meeting has been organised by Fianna Fail Senator Eugene Murphy.

There has been growing concern in Castlerea over the planned use of apartments at the Riverwalk complex in the town and mounting pressure on public representatives to provide information to the community.

Senator Murphy said that he shared the concerns of the local community about the lack of information and service capacity.
