Eimear to represent county at Miss Ireland pageant

Eimear Noone will be representing Roscommon at this year’s Miss Ireland pageant.

A young Fourmilehouse woman will be flying the flag for Roscommon at the Miss Ireland pageant in November after being selected as one of the finalists.

Eimear Noone will represent the county in the competition, which culminates in the judges selecting the winner on November 4th at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Dublin.

“I am incredibly proud to be given such an amazing opportunity to represent the county and to bring it on to a national level,” said the 20-year-old. She is also pleased that her selection has given her the platform to raise money for charity.

Miss Ireland’s charity partner this year is the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Eimear will be staging local fundraisers for this foundation along with her own personal charity, the Children's Health Foundation.

Her opportunity to represent the county at the Miss Ireland pageant came about earlier this year when she submitted an application after being made aware of the competition through agency advertisements and social media.

Along with other entrants, Eimear had to go through a long process involving different stages before she was selected as a finalist. She has always had an interest in the Miss Ireland competition, believing it “is not only an empowering competition but it also does amazing work for charities”.

Miss Ireland has organised for the finalists to get their professional photos taken on a number of dates this month and in October, before they compete in ‘Head to Head challenges’ in advance of the grand final on November 4th.

Eimear, who has five siblings, is currently studying for post primary teaching and is working part time in the District Coffee Shop in Roscommon Town. Not surprisingly, her siblings along with parents, Patricia and Seamus Noone, will be watching her progress with keen interest.

*Eimear will be organising a table quiz in aid of Children’s Health Foundation in Doorley’s Pub, Roscommon on Friday, October 27th at 8 p.m.. There will be spot prizes on the night. Four people per table (€40 a table). She will also be fundraising for the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on the night by organising a raffle. Eimear will be appearing on Ros FM at 10.45 a.m. every Wednesday until the Miss Ireland final with Seamus Duke to provide updates on the event and her charity fundraisers.
