Emergency services at scene of major explosion in West Roscommon
The scene of the incident at The Oaks in Frenchpark.
Emergency services are currently at the scene of a major explosion which has completely destroyed a house in The Oaks estate in Frenchpark village.
It's understood that two fire brigades are tackling the fire, caused by the huge blast which happened at approximately 7.10 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Gardaí are also at the scene.
One resident told the Herald that the whole estate "shook" following the explosion.
There are about 50 houses in The Oaks and it's understood extensive damage was also caused to other residents' windows, doors and perimeter walls.
It's understand that one person has been seriously injured in the incident.
