Temporary library in former courthouse now open
The former courthouse will be used as the town's public library while ongoing remediation works at King House are continuing.
The temporary library in Boyle Courthouse opened earlier today, Wednesday.
The former courthouse will be used as the town's public library while ongoing remediation works at King House are continuing.
This major visitor attraction and the adjacent library nearby were severely affected by a major oil spill in November caused by criminal damage. The library has been closed since the incident.
Roscommon County Council identified the former courthouse building on The Crescent as a suitable temporary premises to ensure continuity of library services while intensive remediation works continue at King House.
The library opening hours are: Tuesday, 10a.m.-1p.m. and 1.30p.m. - 5p.m.; Wednesday, 10a.m. - 1p.m. and 1.30p.m. - 5p.m.; Thursday, 1p.m. - 8p.m.; Friday, 10a.m. - 1p.m. and 1.30p.m. - 5p.m.; Saturday 10a.m. - 1p.m. and 2p.m. -5p.m..

An accessible entrance is available at the left-hand side of the building.
