End of an era for County Roscommon business as owners retire

The owners of McHugh's, Curraghboy, will turn their key in their door of their business for the final time today.
Today, Friday, May 31st, marks the end of an era for the village of Curraghboy in South Roscommon as a popular local business closes its doors after 75 years.
The owners of McHugh’s — Enda and Ita McHugh — have decided to retire and will turn the key on the family-run business for the final time later this afternoon.
McHugh’s has been a general grocery store and newsagents in the village, alongside providing petrol and diesel to customers.
The business was established in the village in the late forties by Enda's father and mother, P and Kitty McHugh. P was a native of Keoghville, Taughmaconnell and Kitty was the former Ms Kitty Burke, Curnagee, Brideswell.

, Enda and Ita admitted that they will miss the daily interaction with their loyal customer base which has now extended into the third generation of a number of families in the general catchment area.They also thanked their customers for their loyal and unwavering support over the years.
