Excitement is building ahead of Roscommon Rose Rebecca Collins' appearance on national television tonight as she takes to the Rose of Tralee stage.
The show kicks off on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player at 8 p.m, with Dáithí Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas on hand to interview the final Roses as they take to the stage in the hope of being crowned the Rose of Tralee 2026.
When Rebecca steps onto the stage, she will do so with the encouragement of family, pupils, colleagues, local businesses, and communities across County Roscommon.
The 24-year-old secondary school teacher from Kiltoom in South Roscommon is proud to represent the county at the iconic festival, and is one of the bookies' favourites to win the title.
Daughter of Martin and Fiona Collins, Rebecca teaches Home Economics and Religion at Our Lady’s Bower in Athlone, where she has been described as “a fantastic role model” for students.

Meanwhile the musical highlight of last night came from Leitrim Rose, Catherine Cullen from Carrick-on-Shannon. The physio student at UCD is multi-instrumental, and she treated the audience to some lilting. Catherine delivered a minor masterclass live from the stage, before whipping out a tin whistle to further show off her talents.
Separately, the New York Rose Ciara McGinty, has very strong County Roscommon connections.
The 25 year old teacher's late grandmother Patsy, sister of John Rogers and Peg Dobey, hailed from Emlagh, Castleplunkett. The Kilmurry Hall Committee highlighted the connection, and wished Ciara the best of luck in the event. Ciara will be also be performing on tonight.
