Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are set to meet representatives from the Independent Ireland party this morning as government-formation talks continue.

The Independent Ireland party, which returned with four TDS at the last election including Michael Fitzmaurice, had made no secret of their desire to enter into discussions on a new government.

However, it is widely accepted that an agreement involving the Michael Collins led party is unlikely.
