Lands part of famous estate on the market for €410,000

Forty four acres of land adjacent to Roscommon Golf Course and 2km from the town centre have come on the market with Sean Naughton Auctioneers, Roscommon.

The lands were once part of the Lord Crofton Estate in Mote Park. John Crofton was the first owner of the estate. He held the post of auditor general during the reign of Queen Elizabeth. He was the first Elizabethan settler here. The estate of Mote Park once consisted of 7,000 acres.

“We are presently selling circa 44 acres all in one block. Within the wall gardens contains the beautiful old heritage of the Stewart residence. There is lots of road frontage onto two roads, which would be suitable for development subject to planning permission,” said the auctioneer.

All of the buildings on the site are listed on the Record of Protected Structures (RPS).

The overall guide price is €410,000, but the property can be sold in two lots. The old residence with 0.8 acres is guiding for €110,000. The remaining circa 43.20 acres is guiding for €300,000.
