Local TD provides update on local swimming pool reopening

Local Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane has provided the latest update on the reopening of the local swimming pool in Ballaghaderreen.

The swimming pool was part of the original leisure centre at the former Abbeyfield Hotel on the Sligo Road, which became an EROC centre in 2017. The pool has remained closed since December 2022, partly due to running costs at the time.

Deputy Kerrane published the following reply she received recently from the owners:

“Stock is due in at the end of January and estimated installation date is beginning of February, we should then have those works completed within two weeks of commencement. Once we've dates secured, I will be in touch with yourself throughout the month”.
