Athlone Tennis Club’s ambitious plans for a state-of-the-art tennis dome received a massive boost this week following a record-breaking fundraising event at The Bounty.

The club’s inaugural fundraising "Big Push" pub quiz saw the local venue packed to capacity, with staff noting it was one of the largest pub quiz events the venue had ever hosted.

The night was a resounding success, raising nearly €2,500 toward the club’s development fund, a sign of strong community support for the project. Many of the club's members hail from the general South Roscommon area.

Attendees were delighted to hear about the exciting line-up of community events to follow, including a Tennisathon, Race Night, Bingo and more.

The proposed dome is set to transform tennis in the Midlands, providing year-round, all-weather facilities that will benefit players, members, schools and the wider Athlone community.

"We are absolutely overwhelmed by the turnout at The Bounty. To see the room filled with friends, neighbours, club members and local businesses shows how much people value the future of sport in Athlone.

Raising €2,500 in a single night is an incredible start to our 'Big Push' campaign, and it gives us real momentum as we move into the next phase of development,” said Athlone Tennis Club Chairperson, Lisa Brennan.

The club also has a tiered sponsorship drive strategy. Opportunities are currently open for a Platinum Sponsor, who will secure exclusive naming rights for the new Dome. Additionally, Gold, Silver, and Bronze sponsorship packages are available, offering court and tournament naming rights, permanent signage, and extensive social media coverage amongst other benefits.

"The quiz was a celebration of what we’ve achieved so far, but the real work begins now. We are looking for local and national partners to join us in this legacy project. Whether it’s our headline Platinum Sponsor or local businesses taking up Gold and Silver slots, or people putting their name or logo on a digital brick, this is a unique chance to be associated with a landmark sports facility in the heart of Ireland,” said the club’s fundraising committee.
