Presenters Maggie Molloy and Kieran McCarthy on their search for house hunters for the RTE show, Cheap Irish Homes.

With constant negative reports circulating about Ireland's housing crisis, it's no surprise that many people are feeling disillusioned about finding a home.

However, the team behind RTÉ's popular property show Cheap Irish Homes want to help.

"We know it's a difficult time out there for anyone trying to buy a home, but we really think we can offer some options," feels Presenter Maggie Molloy.

As the show enters its sixth season, she is urging people to get in touch.

"It doesn't matter if you're a young couple searching for a first home or an older person who wants to downsize, we'll do our best to find you something."

The most recent report from the Irish Central Bank says Ireland needs to build around 20,000 extra properties a year to keep up with demand. However, all of the houses that feature on Cheap Irish Homes are already built.

"We love a doer-upper, especially if it has character," continues Maggie, who successfully renovated her own home in Tipperary, after buying it aged just 23.

"People might feel stuck or exhausted by their search, and we are able to cast an independent eye over what they are looking for and maybe give them some alternative options." highlights Maggie.

"We also aim to take out the fear factor. A lot of people look at houses online and think 'that's too much work'. When we bring them to the site, we can help them visualise the potential of a property and make it seem less of a daunting project."
