Melbourne Rose contestant has strong Roscommon links

Niamh Kearney
A woman with strong Roscommon connections is in the running to be Melbourne’s contestant in the Rose of Tralee Festival.
Niamh Kearney was born in Melbourne, Australia, and spent part of her childhood in the town of Ballinlough in County Roscommon before returning to Melbourne in 2010.
During her time in Ireland, she was actively involved in Gaelic, soccer, hurling, and Irish dancing. Since her return to Melbourne, Niamh has pursued interests in playing the violin and Irish dancing.
“Niamh is 24 years old pursuing a degree in Law and Commerce with the goal of graduating by the end of the year to embark on a career as a commercial lawyer or financial advisor. When she’s not studying or working one of her three jobs, Niamh can be found on the soccer field representing Avondale FC or playing futsal for Melbourne AKU,” the competition organisers said.
“Niamh is passionate about investing and hopes to leverage her knowledge to empower others, especially women, in navigating the complexities of the finance world. She aspires to launch a business aimed at providing accessible investment guidance, free from the typical financial jargon.” In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Niamh is an avid runner and is currently training for a marathon happening at the end of the year. The Melbourne Rose selection night will take place this Saturday.
