No date for Aldi Boyle appeal
The Aldi development was given the greenlight subject to 36 conditions, and it was subsequently appealed to the planning regulator.
There is no date yet for a decision by An Coimisiún Pleanála on the appeal against the planning grant for an Aldi store in Boyle.
In January, Roscommon County Council approved the Patrick Street development, which would see the construction of the discount foodstore, with an off licence, the demolition of derelict structures and the repair and refurbishment of the terrace to provide five residential dwellings.
The development was given the greenlight subject to 36 conditions, and it was subsequently appealed to the planning regulator.
While an initial deadline for a decision had been scheduled for late June, this was pushed out to allow for further information to be submitted.
A spokesperson for the commission told the Herald that a statutory notice was recently issued to participants to the appeal inviting their comments.
“Any responses are currently being reviewed, and a decision will be made by the Commission as soon as is practicable,” he said.
