There will be plenty of warm sunshine around County Roscommon on Friday.

Met Éireann is predicting that parts of County Roscommon could hit 28c or 29c on Friday. 

The warm blast is set to peak this weekend before unsettled weather returns next week.

A temperature of 24c was recorded at Mount Dillon at lunch time on Thursday, and the mercury is set to rise even higher tomorrow, according to Met Éireann.

Tonight will be very mild and close, with temperatures not expected to fall below between 13 and 16c. 

On Friday, temperatures will be at their highest during the current warm spell, especially in the midlands and north where it is expected that County Roscommon will experience its warmest day of the year.

The weather will turn fresher from Sunday as an Atlantic regime returns.
