A young Carrick-on-Shannon woman whose tragic death occurred at the weekend will be laid to rest today, Wednesday.

A native of Attyrory, Carrick-on-Shannon, Róisín Cryan will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family.

The young woman is being remembered as ‘a beautiful person, inside and out’.

Her Funeral Mass takes place at 11 a.m. this morning in Carrick-on-Shannon followed by burial in Drumlion Cemetery.

She is survived by her parents Joe and Marguerite; loving fiancé, Conor Loftus; adored sisters, Annmarie, Clare, Ruth and Maeve, Clare’s fiancé Eugene; the Loftus family, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours, work colleagues and a large circle of friends.

She was pre-deceased by grandparents William and Mai Cryan, Bernard and Annie Donohue, her cousin Michael, aunt Mary and uncle Hughie.

The Cryan and Loftus family say they appreciate everybody’s sympathy, support and understanding at this difficult time and have requested, if desired, that donations in lieu of flowers would be made to Grainne Uaille Sub Aqua Club and River Moy Search and Rescue.
