A well known Roscommon designer said she was "absolutely devastated" after a witch she had spent hours handcrafting was stolen outside her mother's house last night.

In a message on Instagram, Michelle Fallon, a noted designer, said: "I'm absolutely devastated. Someone stole the witch from my mum's house last night. To think somebody would stoop that low and do such a thing is so disappointing."

Michelle said her niece and nephew only arrived yesterday, and they were so excited about it before the theft occurred outside her mother's house on the Lanesboro Road, Roscommon Town.

"I have spent hours upon hours making it over the last couple of weeks and so many people have got such enjoyment from it. How could someone be so awful to do such a thing?."

She has appealed for people to keep an eye out for the witch.

"Please, please share so we can find my witch, or let me know if you see her."
