Roscommon native and award-winning milliner Laura Hanlon won the 'Most Creative Hat' award at the Dublin Horse Show's annual Ladies Day held yesterday, Thursday.

Celebrating her success on Instagram, Laura said: “Wow, it's such an achievement for me, and an honour. I made my hat completely from hair extensions. It took a few attempts and it was a labour of love but I got there in the end.

“My efforts didn't go unnoticed. I loved how it turned out and how I matched it to my hair colour,” he said.

Laura took home a €1,000 voucher for Pichet, which can be used in all eight venues of the Mercantile Group across Dublin city.

Lorraine Ryan Kelly from Galway was crowned ‘Best Dressed’ at the Horse Show, and walked away with a €10,000 cash prize from 1664 Blanc.
