Surprise visit by celebrity chef to Roscommon cafe

The staff of Kelly's Cafe in Monksland received a surprise visit earlier this week when celebrity chef Neven Maguire dropped in for lunch.

Writing on their social media page the staff noted, "We had a lovely surprise visitor today at Kelly’s Café in Monksland! Neven Maguire and his team joined us for lunch and sampled our menu. We’re delighted to say he left as a very happy customer — and even treated us to a beautiful gift."

Neven is well known for his many television appearances and also hosts a number of his own cookery programmes. 

He is also the head chef and proprietor of the award winning MacNean House and Restaurant.

He has published and launched several cookbooks and features regularly on radio.
