Traffic gridlock in West Roscommon due to icy conditions

There were reports of traffic gridlock on the N5 near Ballaghaderreen this morning due to icy road conditions.
A build-up of vehicles near the Old Dublin road turn-off near the town had brought traffic to a standstill.
It’s understood that Gardaí and Roscommon County Council staff arrived on the scene to help alleviate to the situation.
