Ireland AM Presenter Deric Ó h'Artagáin was at the Hodson Bay this morning.

A segment of the Ireland AM breakfast show was broadcast live from the county this morning.

Presenter Deric Ó h'Artagáin visited the Hodson Bay along the shores of Lough Ree to see the ‘100 million tree project’ in action.

This island of Ireland community not-for-profit initiative project is about restoring national forest to help Ireland reach its climate change targets.

Volunteers were up at the crack of dawn at Yew Point in the Hodson Bay as Ireland AM showed them planting trees in designated areas.

Supporting the project, the Hodson Bay Group is planting 5,000 trees, helping to restore Ireland's biodiversity and combat environmental degradation.
