A memorial truck run in memory of the late Pat McCrann is underway from Frenchpark to Strokestown.
All monies raised will go towards the Frenchpark Church Refurbishment Fund, something that was dear to both Pat and his family.
This afternoon Frenchpark Parish Priest Fr Michéal Donnelly got the truck run underway. Over 100 trucks and lorries of all descriptions are taking part in the event
The run has departed from Into the West, Sheepwalk and is heading to Strokestown and returning.
Organisers are delighted with the support for the event for a man who went to the ends of the earth to keep wheels turning 24/7, 365 days of the year over the course of his 36 years in the tyre business, which he ran from Sheepwalk, Frenchpark.
Mr McCrann (50) lost his life in tragic accident, when a tyre exploded, near Frenchpark on July 18th, 2024.

At a recent inquest into his death Roscommon coroner Brian O’Connor said Mr McCrann was well known for being “such an obliging person”.
“He went out of his way no matter what the circumstances were to assist people. These were the principles on which he built a very successful business,” he said.
Mr O’Connor said losing him in such tragic circumstances was very difficult for his family and friends.
