A pedestrian crossing is being planned for Market Street in the Town.

A pedestrian crossing is being planned for a busy road in Ballaghaderreen town.

The proposed development on Market Street, the L-1244, is aimed at providing a safe crossing facility for vulnerable road users and those with reduced mobility.

The crossing will also serve to improve pedestrian connectivity on Market Street and with surrounding amenities, including nearby school bus stops.

The project involves the construction of a new raised table Zebra crossing and the installation of new road signage to alert motorists and enhance overall safety in the area.

The plans also include site clearance works, surface water drainage works and the provision of road markings.

A submission or observation in relation to the proposed development can be made to Roscommon County Council before Tuesday November 25th.
