Kiltoom rower Martin O’Grady has been selected as part of the Irish contingent that will travel to Spain for the World Cup I event.
O’Grady will represent Ireland in the Men’s Quad Sculls alongside Konan Pazzaia, Andrew Sheehan and Ryan Spelman.
Double Olympic gold medallist Fintan McCarthy is also set to compete in the Single Scull event in Seville. Olympic bronze medallist Fiona Murtagh will take to the water in the Women’s Single Scull.
This event will be the first senior international of the season for many within Ireland’s High Performance unit as preparations continue for a busy summer of competition.
Selection for World Cup I follows an extensive winter training and trial process at the National Rowing Centre, with athletes and crews working through months of preparation, testing, and racing to earn selection for the Irish team.
The 2026 World Cup Rowing I event takes place from May 29 to 31 in Seville.
