Gerry Boland is a poet and author with ten published books.

In a new series of writing workshops at The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon poet and author Gerry Boland explores the memoir genre.

Taking tips, strategies, approaches and styles from a wide range of memoirs, Gerry will help you to decide what kind of memoir you would like to write. Extracts from acclaimed and lesser-known memoirs will be read and discussed. Writing exercises will play an important role, as you tease out ideas and close in on an overall style and structure. By the end of the course, you should be well on your way to writing that memoir you’ve been thinking about for far too long.

Gerry Boland is a poet and author with ten published books. He has wide experience of leading writing workshops in poetry, short fiction and memoir.

The six workshops run on consecutive Wednesday mornings from 11 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. commencing January 22nd. Workshop fee, €60, payable to The Dock Booking Office, 071 965 0828.
