Blackmore wins Irish Times Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Month

The Irish Times Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Month for March 2024 is jockey Rachael Blackmore.
Rachael Blackmore has had many a memorable trip to Cheltenham down the years, dating back to 2019 when she had her first winner at the Festival.
Since then, she won the Gold Cup on A Plus Tard and two Champion Hurdles on Honeysuckle - and earlier this year she completed the Cheltenham Triple Crown by adding the Champion Chase to her roll of honour with a surprise win on the Henry de Bromhead-trained Captain Guinness. In doing so, she joined Ruby Walsh, Tony McCoy and Barry Geraghty, as a select band of jockeys to have won the big three at Cheltenham and the Aintree Grand National.
Another treble that Rachael has achieved with her Cheltenham success is that of winning the March Sportswoman of the Month award for the third year in a row.
