Camogie player with Roscommon roots stars in All-Ireland final

Laura Kelly, Galway, struck 0-7 in the inaugural All-Ireland U-23 Camogie final.

Laura Kelly, whose father Gerry hails from Fuerty, starred in the inaugural All-Ireland U-23 Camogie final for Galway on Saturday.

Kelly, who plays her club camogie with Salthill-Knocknacarra, struck seven points as Galway overcame Cork on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-8 in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick. 

The Galway sharpshooter maintains a strong relationship with her father's home county as she works locally. 

Kelly comes from strong GAA heritage as her father, Gerry lined out for Fuerty when they won the 1991 Junior A football championship.
