King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park will close for several weeks for pitch maintenance works later this summer.

A recent meeting of Roscommon County Board heard that the county ground will close on July 1st for eight weeks to facilitate the works.

The meeting was told that the top few inches of the playing surface will be scraped off before being re-sanded and re-seeded.

The works are considered standard practice to maintain the upkeep of the Prunty Pitch, which was newly laid in 2016 and officially opened in February 2017.

It is envisaged that the works will be completed in time for the Hyde to host the concluding stages of the local club championships in September and October.
