A County Roscommon referee will take charge of one of the biggest games in the GAA calendar on Sunday next.

The GAA has confirmed that Paddy Neilan from St. Faithleach’s GAA Club will take charge of Sunday’s AIB All-Ireland club senior football final between Cuala and Errigan Ciaran in Croke Park at 3.40 p.m..

Neilan is no stranger to big games, having been linesman for last year’s All-Ireland senior football final between Armagh and Galway. He was also stand-by referee for the 2022 decider between Kerry and Galway.

He also refereed last year’s All-Ireland U-20 football final between Tyrone and Kerry.

There will also be Roscommon interest in the hurling final where Galway’s Liam Gordon will be the man in the middle for the meeting of Sarsfields and Na Fianna in GAA headquarters at 1.30 p.m..

Gordon has been a successful manager with the Athleague senior camogie team in recent years, while he has also been part of the Roscommon junior camogie team’s management.
