Two brothers had the unique distinction of lining out for different counties last weekend.
It was a proud weekend for the Fleming family as Niall made his inter county debut with the Roscommon senior hurlers in King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park on Sunday last.
He started at wing forward, before being replaced at half time due to picking up a thumb injury, as Roscommon defeated Wicklow 2-15 to 1-16 in the opening round of the Division Three hurling league.
Meanwhile, Niall’s brother John scored 0-3 from wing forward in Galway’s 1-21 to 1-16 defeat to Tipperary on Saturday evening.
Niall and John’s brother Thomas has previously lined out with the Roscommon hurlers, helping the county to the Division 3A league title in 2023.
Thomas was also part of the Roscommon U-20 teams that reached the All Ireland U-20B finals in 2023 and 2024.
Niall was one of six Roscommon hurlers who made their senior inter county debuts in the victory over Wicklow.
Cian Bowes, Tommy Morris, Conor Morris, Ronan Finn and Ethan Connaughton also enjoying their first appearances in the primrose and blue at adult level.
