Quantities of suspected cannabis and cocaine have been seized at a rural property follow a garda search.

The search, carried out on January 16th, was part of ongoing enquiries into the sale and supply of drugs in the towns of Ballyhaunis, Castlerea and Ballaghaderreen.

Gardaí attached to the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by colleagues based at Ballyhaunis Garda Station, executed a search warrant at a rural property in the area.

During the search, quantities of suspected cannabis and cocaine, with an estimated value of €13,000, were seized. These drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

One man has since been arrested and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
