County Roscommon golfers selected to represent Ireland

Olivia Costello and Thomas Higgins from Roscommon Golf Club have been selected to represent Ireland at the Home Internationals tournament being held at the Woodhall Spa Golf Club next week in the UK.
The tournament is being held from Wednesday, August 6th to Friday, August 8th.
Both golfers showed strong form at the recent European Amateur Team Championships, with Higgins helping the Ireland men's team achieve a fourth place finish.

Costello was part of the Irish girl's team that won a bronze medal in the tournament held at Slaley Hall.
Roscommon Golf Club posted a statement congratulating the two golfers on their selection.
It read, "There is more fantastic news for our club today. Thomas Higgins will play for the Ireland Men's team in the Home Internationals which will be held in the UK next week and Olivia Costello has been chosen on the full Irish Women's team for the same competition."
"What an honour for our club to have two full internationals playing for Ireland next week. We wish them both the best of luck."
The men's team is as follows: Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint), John Doyle (Fota Island), Keith Egan (Carton House), Stuart Grehan (Louth), Thomas Higgins (Roscommon), David Howard (Fota Island), Jonathan Keane (Lahinch), Sean Keeling (Roganstown), Gavin Tiernan (Louth) and is captained by Damien Coyne (Tuam).
The women's team selected: Anna Abom (Edmonstown), Olivia Costello (Roscommon), Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle), Anna Dawson (Tramore), Emma Fleming (Elm Park), Rebekah Gardner (Clandeboye) and Aideen Walsh (Lahinch) and is captained by Gillian O'Leary (The Island).
