Local golfer has hole-in-one and eagle in same round
Patrick O'Connor Jnr. celebrates his hole-in-one on the 2nd hole in Castlerea Golf Club.
Castlerea Golf Club witnessed a rare sight recently when one of its members enjoyed a hole-in-one and an eagle — all in the same round.
Not only that, but those couple of special golf shots were completed in the space of three holes.
Patrick O'Connor Jnr. was playing in the Ray Joyce sponsored competition at Castlerea Golf Club when he hit the perfect tee shot into the Par 3 2nd for a memorable hole-in-one.
Two holes later on the 4th, Patrick weaved his magic once more when he saw his second shot into the Par 4 roll into the hole for an eagle.
Not surprisingly, Patrick went on to win the competition.
