Taughmaconnell native Isaac Oliver has been selected to represent Great Britain and Ireland at the Jacques Léglise Trophy, taking place at The Island Golf Club later this week.

The Jacques Léglise Trophy is a team encounter for boys aged 18 or under involving Great Britain and Ireland against the Continent of Europe.

Most recently, the Continent of Europe defeated GB&I in 2025 with a 15-10 victory at the Royal Golf Club of Belgium and GB&I are this week aiming to win the trophy for the first time since triumphing in Finland in 2018.

Oliver has enjoyed an excellent year to date, winning the Fairhaven Trophy back in May when he overcame a star-studded field to secure the win by two shots.

He also finished third at the Scottish Boys Championship and fifth at the European Boys' Team Championship, Division 2 2026.

The Taughmaconnell native recently competed in the R&A Boys' Amateur Championship, which is one of the most prestigious tournaments in junior golf.

He has also earned international caps in what has been a year of consistent high quality performances from Oliver.
