Local school provides both captains for Connacht minor football game
Roscommon minor captain Keelan Kelly and Galway minor captain Charlie Killeen both attend the same school.
Garbally College in Ballinasloe recorded a special piece of history recently when the secondary school provided both captains for the recent Connacht minor championship football game between Roscommon and Galway at Dr. Hyde Park.
TY student at the school Keelan Kelly from the Padraig Pearses club captained Roscommon while Ballinasloe’s Charlie Killeen, a sixth year student, had the honour of leading out the Tribesmen.
“On this occasion the Rossies took the spoils. Congratulations to both lads, we're very proud of your achievements,” said the Garbally College in a social media post.
