Roscommon close to appointing new ladies’ football manager
Lloyd Kelly is expected to be confirmed as the new manager of the Roscommon senior ladies' football team.
Roscommon are on the cusp of appointing a new ladies’ football manager to lead the county into the uncharted waters of senior championship football next season.
The understands that Lloyd Kelly will replace Finbar Egan at the helm.
The Ballinasloe native was involved with Egan’s backroom team this season, which culminated in All-Ireland glory coming to the county when Roscommon defeated Fermanagh by 2-12 to 0-6 in August’s intermediate football final in Croke Park.
A former manager of the Pádraig Pearses ladies’ footballers, he has been a goalkeeping coach with the Galway senior men’s footballers under Pádraic Joyce in recent seasons.
Kelly’s name is expected to go before an executive meeting of Roscommon LGFA this week before being ratified at the next county board meeting.
