Roscommon duo Ciaran Butler (VI stoker) and Noel Feeley (pilot) capped off their first competitive tandem Para-cycling season with a second place finish in the penultimate race of the national paracycling league series in Banbridge, County Down.
Noel Feeley is a familiar figure with Roscommon Sports Partnership, and Ciaran is an Offaly native, now living in Roscommon Town.
The duo finished the season strongly with a personal best time of 24.19 in the 16km tandem time trail, leaving them with an overall second place series finish in their category.
The national Para-cycling series not only provides a supportive and welcoming competition environment for all those involved in Para-cycling but it is also the perfect foundation for athletes aspiring to high performance.
The tandem events in para cycling events have an able bodied pilot and a stoker that has some degree of visual impairment. The stoker, who sits on the back, provides the power and speed while the pilot sits at the front and their main job is to steer.
