A pair of talented Creggs rugby players have been chosen as part of Ireland’s 35 player training squad for the Women’s U-18 Six Nations Festival.
Merisa Kiripati and Síofra Hession have both been chosen in the 35 player squad.
Merisa, continues her family’s strong rugby tradition as her older sister Ivana was part of the Ireland U-20s last season. Her brother Kolo is part of the Creggs side that are aiming to win the J1A League and secure the Connacht Junior Cup this month.
Meanwhile, Hession has a strong sporting background as she starred in helping Mercy College reach the All Ireland Senior B camogie final.
She will be aiming to help her school progress through to a national decider in ladies football as they face Skibbereen CS in the All Ireland Senior A semi final next Wednesday.
Ballinasloe RFC’s Orlaith Morrissey and Roisin Power have also been included in the squad.
The tournament will take place at Wellington College in England next month.
